Navigating friendships, relationships, and social situations can become increasingly complex during the teen and young adult years.
At Bee Social Network, our Social Connections program helps teens and young adults develop the social communication, self-awareness, confidence, and relationship skills needed to navigate everyday interactions more successfully.
Unlike our STEAM Social program, Social Connections focuses on the real-life social experiences, concerns, and personal goals of older teens and young adults.
Skills We Address
- Social Communication: Starting and maintaining conversations, listening, asking questions, and understanding social cues.
- Self-Confidence & Self-Awareness: Recognizing personal strengths, understanding how we present ourselves, and developing a positive self-image.
- Body Language & Nonverbal Communication: Understanding facial expressions, tone of voice, personal space, and body language.
- Friendships & Peer Relationships: Building connections, joining conversations, maintaining friendships, and navigating disagreements.
- Dating & Healthy Relationships: Understanding mutual interest, personal boundaries, consent, respectful communication, and handling rejection.
- Texting & Digital Communication: Understanding texting etiquette, tone, response expectations, online boundaries, and social media interactions.
- Self-Advocacy & Independence: Expressing needs, making decisions, handling uncomfortable situations, and communicating assertively.
- Social Problem-Solving: Managing misunderstandings, responding to feedback, navigating conflict, and developing flexible thinking.
Our approach is individualized, supportive, practical, and respectful of each participant's personality, comfort level, and goals.
Getting Started: Initial Parent & Participant Interview
Initial ONe-hour Interview
Before beginning sessions, we schedule a one-hour introductory interview with the participant and, when appropriate, their parent or caregiver.
During this meeting, we explore:
- The participant's social strengths, interests, and personal goals.
- How comfortable they feel interacting with peers and others.
- How they believe others perceive them.
- Their experiences with friendships, conversations, dating, and social situations.
- Specific social skills they would like to develop.
- The types of support and learning experiences that may be most beneficial.
This meeting helps us identify meaningful goals and develop an individualized approach. It is a collaborative conversation, not a formal diagnostic evaluation.
program fees
Initial One-Hour Interview: $100
A one-time meeting to discuss social communication needs, strengths, concerns, and individualized goals.
Individual Social Skills Sessions: $80 per hour
Sessions focus on practicing targeted skills through guided discussions, real-life scenarios, role-playing, reflection, and practical activities.
